What Is Acute Illness Evaluation & Treatment?
Acute illness care refers to the evaluation and treatment of sudden or short-term health concerns — illnesses that come on quickly and require prompt attention. This includes respiratory infections, flu-like symptoms, urinary tract infections, sinus infections, strep throat, skin infections, COVID-19, and similar conditions.
At Tone & Core in Lakewood Ranch, acute illness visits are handled directly by Dr. Vargas. As a membership patient, you benefit from same-day or next-day appointment availability, extended visit time, and a physician who already knows your health history.
In-office rapid testing is available for strep, influenza, COVID-19, and urinary tract infections, allowing Dr. Vargas to diagnose and treat quickly and accurately in a single visit when appropriate.
Telehealth visits are also available for certain acute conditions when an in-person evaluation is not required — providing additional convenience when you're not feeling well enough to come in.
